Coastal Housing

Posted: 14th October 2022
Working with @coastalhousing and @andywrites over the last couple of years has given us the opportunity to create some engaging public pieces.

During lockdown we were approached by coastal housing. To design and hand paint 2 of our largest pieces to date. Working on hoardings that stretched as far as the eye could see. With the emphasis on positivity during trying times, the response from these has been amazing.

For both sites artists @fineartphil and @seymourwalls worked side by side to create these phrases by hand. Measuring all elements and drawing them out from scratch. Adding depth with inner and drop shadows as well as outlining each character. Using nothing but brushes, rollers and a steady hand.

They also put their skills to the test creating another larger lettering project for the Environment Centre in Swansea

The first phrase was next to Morriston Hospital emphasising the need for “Health Before Wealth”. At 38 meters long it was the largest of the two. But coastal housing had more for us.

After such an enthusiastic response it wasn’t long before we were given the second project in Neath. This time highlighting the need for “Equality Now”. Working with the same vibrant colour palette Robin and Phil spent several days putting this together.

We are already looking forward to working with coastal again in the future. As you can see below the final pieces really create a powerful message.
