The Background
Loosmore Property Group has been busy revitalising the shop and flats on Bernard Street/Marlborough Road in Brynmill, Swansea, with the aim of breathing new life into the area. They called Fresh Creative Co in to help!
As part of this renovation, the shop (previously a bakery and then electrical shop) has transformed into a new café called Duck and Dough. The café is now open and operated by Max Freitas, the owner of the popular local pastry shop, Natas by Max. Max has cleverly themed his new venture to connect with the nearby Brynmill Park, which is well-known for its large pond where ducks are a common sight.
The Mural
The local wildlife is also the inspiration behind the incredible piece that our talented mural artists have created. Mark and Phil have once again worked their artistic magic; the centrepiece of their creative effort being the stunning mural that now graces the side of the building.
The mural features four vividly colourful ducks soaring gracefully across the wall. Each duck was meticulously crafted with over 20 different colours. The vibrant hues and intricate patterns capture the essence of the local feathered residents, making the mural a dynamic and engaging scene that bridges the urban landscape with the natural beauty of Brynmill Park.
The Response
The community’s response to the Swansea mural has been overwhelmingly positive. Residents and passers-by have expressed their admiration for Swansea’s latest piece of public art, appreciating its strong connection to Brynmill Park and the way it enlivens the area.
