Phil and Mark have been working their magic at Aries Jiujitsu, transforming the dojo’s appearance with striking new signage. The project required meticulous attention to detail and a combination of techniques to ensure a flawless finish.
To start, Mark focused on the smaller window logos. Using a stencil for accuracy, he carefully painted in three coats of black paint. This method ensured a rich, deep finish, and the final reveal was immensely satisfying. The precision of the stencil work ensured that the logos were sharp and clean, perfectly complementing the overall aesthetic of the dojo.
Meanwhile, Phil tackled the main logo on the wall. He began by projecting the initial design onto the surface, carefully marking out the blackletter font. Using the projection as a template, Phil then applied stencil letters for the “jiujitsu” text. This approach ensured that the lettering was consistent and precise.
Once the outlines were in place, Phil and Mark applied multiple coats of black paint. The repeated applications ensured a bold, solid finish that would stand out against the white background. The result was a sharp, simple mural that perfectly captured the clean and minimalistic vibe of the dojo.
